The girls Track & Field team took 4th place at the Lakewood Ranger Relays last Friday, with several girls having stand out performances despite the bitter cold.
In the field events, the Discus Relay team of Abby Moutoux, Julia Houser, and Peyton Hedges led the way with a first place finish while the Shot Put Relay team of Peyton, Eve Anitas, and Julia Kreeger were close behind with a second place result.
On the track, distance specialist Teagan Walsh led the field with an outstanding first place finish in the 3200 while the 4×100 Relay team of Samantha Thomas, Domenica Geogre, Maya Khawam, and Torrey Santora led the sprinters with a second place result.
Several girls added to the scoring for the team, including third place finishes by the 4×1600 teamof Olivia Irwin, Olivia Clarke, Alex Fernandez, and Elizabeth Templeton as well as the High Jump Relay team of Gina Adams, Cara Gilmore, and Fiona Stroski.
On Saturday, Sophomore standout Samantha Thomas traveled to the Mansfield Relays and turned in a 5th place finish in the 100 before running a fantastic race in the 300 Hurdles in which she took the individual championship.
