Multiple Teams · Spring Commitment Day: 4 Demons Choose Colleges!

Wednesday, May 16th, four Demon athletes made public their college choice.  These four student athletes possess some very impressive credentials.  Here they are:


Kathleen Droba-Women’s Hockey-Adrian College

Kathleen, the daughter of Maureen and Don, and the sister of Chris will be joining the Bulldog Women’s Hockey team at Adrian College in Michigan.  A member of the Demon hockey team, this past season she was awarded the prestigious Colin Teets Perseverance Award for her role on the team.  She has also lettered in softball.  Kathleen is also a member of the National Art Honor Society.  She plans on majoring in Pre-Med.


Edwin Schartman-Men’s Tennis-Baldwin Wallace University

Edwin, the son of Theresa Mazzeo and Ed Schartman, and brother of Tony Venditti and Melissa Shirwood, will be joining the Yellowjacket Men’s Tennis program at Baldwin Wallace University.  This past season Eddie was a key member of the 11 time defending SWC Championship team for the Demons.  He has been a 3 time All First Team performer winning titles in 2nd Doubles (2016,2017) and 1st Doubles (2018).  He plans to major in Music Education.


Sean Padden-Men’s Tennis-John Carroll University

Sean, the son of Debra and Brian, has chosen to join the Blue Streak Men’s Tennis program at John Carroll University.  Sean is an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society.  On the court, Sean has been a big reason for the success of the tennis program for the Demons.  He has been First Team All SWC for three straight seasons: 1st Doubles (2016), 2nd Singles (2017) and 1st Singles (2018).  This season he was voted as the Most Valuable Player in the SWC by the coaches for his play!  He has been a two time district qualifier.  Sean will major in Business.


Eric Bechtel-Men’s Lacrosse-Baldwin Wallace University

Eric, the son of Melissa and Jeff, and the brother of former Demon athletes, Scott, Natalie and Jake, has chosen to join the Yellowjackets of Baldwin Wallace University and the Men’s Lacrosse program.  Eric has been a captain on the Demon lacrosse team for the past two seasons.  He is a two time All Region Selection and will graduate as the program’s all time leader in goals, assists and points.  He has also earned letters in swimming and football.  Eric will major in Business.
