Boys Junior Varsity Tennis, Boys Varsity Tennis · Doug Cook To Take Reins of Boys Tennis Team

The reining SWC Boys Tennis champions will have a new leader in place as Coach Doug Cook will take over for Saumil Jhaveri.  Doug is a Westlake native and has 3 Westlake High School Alumni children, one of whom played for WHS for four years.

Coach Cook played Division 1 tennis at Bowling Green State University after playing for Rocky River HS and winning the conference three times in his four seasons there.  Doug still plays competitive tennis in the national adult league (USTA) and placed as high as 2nd at the national championships.  He currently plays on 3 USTA teams at the 4.5 level.  He has been organizing and running men’s leagues at the North Ridge Racquet Club.

Doug has been self employed for 40 years and is currently the girls tennis coach at Lake Ridge Academy and most recently coached the Avon boys JV team.
