Girls Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track and Field Opens Season with Win at Berea-Midpark


The Girls Track & Field team opened up their competitive season with a 54-47 win at Berea-Midpark that was highlighted by several outstanding results.

In the field events, despite several being cancelled due to conditions, Haley Brennan led the way with a 1st place finish in the pole vault, tying her career 10′ personal best.  Meanwhile, Eliza Steinman (PV) and Ana Humer (HJ) took 2nd place finishes in their events.

In the distance events, the 4×800 team of Teagan Walsh, Emma Jaros, Ashley Boyd, and Olivia Clarke opened the scoring with a 1st place finish while Teagan returned to take another 1st place later in the meet, this time in the 1600.  Ashley and Olivia completed the 1600 sweep with a 2nd and 3rd, respectively, while in the 800, Erica Francesconi took a 1st and was followed close behind by Emma who took 2nd.

In the sprints, the 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams won their heats while Lauren Novak took 1st in the 100.  Claire Beck and Domenica George completed the 100m dash sweep with their 2nd and 3rd place finishes while Christina Zkiab took 3rd in the 200m.

The ladies will take the weekend off before hosting their first meet of the season next Wednesday!
