The Westlake boys’ cross country team competed at the Brecksville Bruce Lerch Invitational on September 7th. The Demons placed 8th in the varsity race and 7th in the JV race.
Competing in a field of 26 teams, the Demons were led by sophomore KJ Mueller and senior Colin Walsh who crossed the line in 28th and 29th place. Junior Matthew Eadie raced to a 44th place finish, followed by junior David Daniel in 56th. Senior Lance Clemons closed out the scoring, placing 76th. Sophomore Jake Rintamaki (83rd), senior Eric Kronz (85th), sophomore JP Mogyordy (86th), and sophomore Ivan Tucholski (149th) also competed well in the varsity race.
Sophomore Luke Heierding opened the scoring in the JV race, placing 17th. Finishing 32nd and 38th were junior Sammy Zanotti, and sophomore Jamie Kretzinger. Senior Nathan Hsaio and freshman Tyler Schmitz rounded out the scoring runners in 53rd and 56th place.
Racing to new season best times were Luke Heiering (19:37), Jamie Kretzinger (20:20), Scott Rennard (20:45), and Emerson Tucholski (20:49).
