Competing in their second meet of the 2020 season on Saturday, the girls won their second tri-meet in a row, edging Avon Lake and North Olmsted.
Leading the way for the girls, freshmen Sarah Peer, Stephanie Nivellini, and Ellie Irwin all packed together throughout the entire race, working together the entire run, with all three setting new 5K PR’s to finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall. In doing so, all three enjoyed great finishes while Sarah enjoyed her first ever high school XC victory in finishing 1st overall.
Running a great race for the second competition in a row, sophomore Sarah Coleman finished 5th overall for her second top 10 finish in as many meets, and just continues to improve in her first season with the team.
Packing together, upperclassmen Alexa Higgs and co-captain Ashley Boyd worked with freshman Avery Douglas to solidify the scoring for the team as all three showed impressive improvement from their first meet of the season.
Also running improved times included senior co-captain Olivia Clarke, who ran a great race, as well as Moira McCarthy and Molly Wood, both of whom set their second consecutive 5K PR’s in as many meets.
