Girls Junior Varsity Lacrosse, Girls Varsity Lacrosse · Bill Ready to be named Head Girls Lacrosse Coach

Westlake to hire Bill Ready as new Head Girls Lacrosse Coach

Director of Athletics, Tony Cipollone, announced that Bill Ready will take over the reins of the Demon Girls Lacrosse program, pending Board of Education approval.

“Coach Ready will take over the program for Coach Eyerman, who unfortunately never even got a chance to coach a game for us. With the pandemic and her job changing, she didn’t feel she could meet the demands of the position.  While filling this position has been a challenge, I believe we have found the right person for the job. Coach Ready has been involved in lacrosse and coaching in general for a very long time and the fact that he is in walking distance of our stadium and is invested in the Westlake community is exciting!” Cipollone said.

Coach Ready has been the Associate Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at Benedictine since 2006.  During that time, the team won conference championships in 2013, 2014 and 2016.  He has also coached Girls Basketball at Cleveland Central Catholic as well as Volleyball.  He was worked many summer lacrosse camps with both boys and girls. Currently, he is an Intervention Specialist for the Warrensville Heights School District working within the science and math departments.  Since 2009, he has been a lead teacher for the Lakeshore Day Camp based out of the Westlake School district.

Bill graduated from Ohio University, where he played on their club team and earned his Master’s in Education from Cleveland State University.  He is still an active lacrosse player, playing in the Cleveland Men’s Lacrosse league

“First, I’d like to thank Benedictine H.S. and former Athletic Director Tony Russ for giving me my start in coaching. I learned a lot and grew as a coach during my time there. Now I am excited to get started at Westlake High School leading the Demons lacrosse team and building on the excellent foundation that the program is built on. I’m looking forward to getting out on the field and working with the girls and their families to continue to build the program and help develop young women of character that the community will be proud of on and off the field.)” said Coach Ready on the new position.

Coach Ready resides in Westlake with his wife, 2006 WHS graduate, the former Sharon Guzik (a volleyball and softball player for the Demons), and son Rocky who is one and half.

There will be a team/parent meeting announced soon, stay tuned.
