Both Bechtel’s make history

On Tuesday, April 7th, brothers Jake Bechtel and Eric Bechtel made history on their respective lacrosse fields!  Eric, a freshman at WHS, scored his first ever varsity goal against Western Reserve Academy and Jake a freshman at Adams State University in Colorado (Division 2), scored his first ever collegiate goal against Lindenwood University.

Demons roll over Hudson

The Westlake Demons boys tennis team continued their winning ways by dodging raindrops and rolling to a 4-1 win over Hudson.  The Demons move to 3-0 on the season. Results: 1 Michelich def D. The home track meet vs. Berea-Midpark and Olmsted Falls are on as scheduled.   The home tennis match JV and varsity vs. Hudson are on as scheduled.   The home girls lacrosse game vs. Orange is on as scheduled.

The VNN sponsored website, Westlakeathletics.org ranked 12th of 88 schools that currently utilize VNN, for pageviews.  The site ranked 4th in northeast Ohio schools with almost 17500 pageviews!  The Demon Nation thanks you for your support of our teams!

Demons LAX downed by WRA, 14-3

The Westlake Demon’s Boys Lacrosse team traveled to Hudson to take on Western Reserve Academy last night.  Chris Humer had a goal and an assist on the first ever goal by Eric Bechtel and Ryan Sandor added one but the Demons fell to WRA, 14-3.

WADF Raises over 20K at Green Bash

The Demon Green Bash, Third Edition, was a smashing success as the event brought in over $20,000.  The band, Juke Box Heroes, provided the entertainment and there were lots of auction and door prizes donated.  The WADF (Westlake Athletic Development Foundation) has now raised $325,000 towards the installation of a synthetic surface field that would

Girls Softball defeats Euclid, 3-0

After a frantic search for a game on Monday, the girls softball team was able to find a worthy opponent as Euclid came to the high school to face the varsity.  In a typical Lady Demon game, the girls prevailed 3-0.

Varsity Softball Defeats Keystone!

The Varsity softball team defeated Keystone, 5-4.  Katie Lew pitched a complete game with 13 strikeouts.  Lainey McCue went 3 for 4 with a double, while Macie Menichini added a double and a run scored.  Paige Ward had a 2-out single for an RBI, while Caroline Hazapis drove in the game-winning RBI.  Gina Campo, Claire
