Westlake Remains in Top 15

The westlakeathletics.org Website remains in the Top 15 web hits of almost 14,000 for the month of May.  There are approximately 87 schools using the VNN system for their athletic program in Ohio. Thanks for the support and our sponsors thank you as well!

Sedlak finishes 14th in OHSAA Championships

Mike Sedlak, a sophomore, finished 14th in the Pole Vault at the OHSAA Championships on Saturday at Jesse Owens Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Mike cleared his opening vault of 13′ but missed all 3 of his attempts at 13’6″.  The winning vault was Matt Peare of North Canton Hoover at 16’4″.

Hunter Solecki named 2nd Team All State

Senior Hunter Solecki continued the accolades for the Demon Athletic program by becoming the 5th athlete named to an All-State Team this spring.  Hunter garnered 2nd Team All State by the OHSLA Coaches Association as a Long Stick Middie.  Hunter set a Demon school record in groudballs this past season. Sedlak prepares for OHSAA State Championships

Pole Vaulter, Michael Sedlak, hopes to soar to new heights including hopefully challenging the school record as he prepares to head to Columbus and the Jesse Owen Track And Field complex on the campus of The Ohio State University this Saturday. Michael was an all SWC performer for the Demons and looks to make history.

Launch of Westlake Sports Information Department

We are happy to announce a new initiative for the Westlake Athletic Department.  The Westlake Sports Information Department will be a student based group that will work in conjunction with the Athletic Department and Athletic Director to help staff games as well as write articles and promote events.  We would love to get those students

Spring Awards Ceremony set for Tuesday at 6 pm

The spring awards ceremony will take place at 6 pm on Tuesday, June 2nd starting at 6 pm in the PAC.  After the first part of the ceremony, individual teams will be assigned to “breakout” rooms for more team oriented awards.  Please feel free to come and join in the celebration.

Lady Demons fall in regional Final

The Lady Demons softball team feel today to #1 ranked Holland Springfield 5-4 in Clyde in the regional final.  The team advanced the furthest in Westlake Softball history and set a new school record in wins.
