The JV Boys Basketball Team played Olmsted Falls at home tonight and defeated the Bulldogs 46-45.

Basheer Alramahi scored 2 points to kick off the offense for Westlake. Cael Cipollone came off the bench and went deep for two 3’s and a bucket to make it 12-11 at the end of the 1st quarter.

The Demons opened the second quarter with a drive by Alramahi. The Bulldogs went on a small run, but Owen Reitenbach had a put back to give the Demons back the lead. This quarter proved that the Demons and Bulldogs are evenly match competitors, but Westlake pulled away and the score was 23-16 going into halftime.

Olmsted Falls went on a 5-0 run before Nick Chalkias hit a bucket for 2. The Demons held on to a 2 point lead going into the final quarter 28-26, which is going to be a barn burner.

After a steal, Westlake got the ball and Adonis Shelby drove the lane for 2 points. Westlake turned up the defense and slowly increased the lead, but the Bulldogs did not give up and tied the game 38-38 with 1:50 left. The game came down to the wire with Alramahi hitting 2 threes, but Olmsted Falls responded each time. With time running down on the clock, the Demons held on to win 46-45.

Westlake is 4-3 (2-3 conference) and play at home Friday, January 15 against Midview when we celebrate senior night for our cheerleaders!
