Westlake Boys Junior Varsity put together their best performance of the season, defeating Olmsted Falls 2279-1732 in GCIBL action at Spins Bowl Independence. Taking advantage of slightly easier scoring conditions, the Demons were solid through the two regular games, posting scores of 829 and 851 to build a comfortable lead going into the 4-game baker set. The Baker games were much closer, with total combined margin of only 42 pins, but some clutch 9th and 10th frame scoring sealed Westlake victories in each of the 4 games.
Leading the scoring was junior two-hander Jack Finucane, who rolled games of 188 and 223. He was supported by strong performances from junior Paul Rossander (173, 174), sophomore Mason Kruse (173, 137), junior Shane Burich (146, 161) and senior Tommy Kolocouris (149,156)
Westlake improves to 4-0 with the win. Next up for JV is Padua on December 14 at Game of Wickliffe. Finucane and Kolocouris will be joining the varsity squad in tomorrow’s Eagle Challenge at Buckeye Lanes.
