The Westlake Varsity Boys Basketball Team wrapped up the regular season at Midview tonight.
The Demons won the tip, and Justin Garcia found Austin Norris under the basket and then drilled a 3 to give the Demons an early lead. Westlake played great defense crashing the boards and holding the Middies to a 10 second violation and took a 15-10 lead.
The Middies went on a 4-0 run before Westlake Cal Reghi hit a 3. The Demons kept up the defensive pressure and caused a 5 second violation. Buckets traded back and forth and both teams played aggressive, but the Demons were up by 5 points 26-21 going into halftime.
A steal by Will Ostrowski gave Westlake a 10 point lead. The Demons defense continued to pick off the Middies to take control of the game. Westlake hit five 3 pointers (Garcia, Reghi, Ray Ellington, Blake Wolfe, Elyraderani) out scoring their opponents 27-6 to make it 53-27 going into the final quarter.
The Demons never looked back with a 20 point lead, cleared the bench and won 65-43.
Garcia scored 17 points, followed by Reghi with 16, Norris 12, Elyaderani 7, Ray Ellington 6, Blake Wolfe 3, Will Ostrowski and Deontae Redding chipped in 2 points each.
