The Westlake Boys Varsity Basketball Team lost to Elyria in the first round of the tournament against Elyria tonight 63-41.
The fans braved the cold weather and snow to watch a repeat of a close matchup of a 2 point game in December that went to the Demons.
The game started off with both teams scoring buckets, but Elyria went on an 8-0 run to finish the 1st quarter and extended the lead with the Demons down 28-15 at the half.
Westlake pulled it together in the 3rd quarter and cut the lead down to 10 points, but the Demons just could not get it within single digits to put pressure on the Pioneers.
The seniors played their final minutes in the 4th quarter, before the bench came in to wrap up the game.
Nate Klima and Tyler Kolocouris both scored 8 points, followed by Cal Reghi and Joe Klessel scoring 6 each, Will Ostrowksi scored 4, Ray Ellington, Greyson Elyaderani and DeOntae Redding scored 2 each and Austin Norris chipped in 1 point.
Coach Huber and the team would like to thank all of the families, fans, student section, pep band and Demon Nation for all of the support this season. The team finished the season 12-11 (9-9 conference).
