After jumping out to an early 2-0 lead in the opening inning against Avon, the Eagles erupted for a 12-2 win in a Southwest Conference JV tournament game, ending the Demons season.
With the loss, the Green and White wind up the ’19 campaign at 9 and 10 overall, with a 7-10 mark in SWC play.
The Demons plated their pair of runs with the hitting work of the first 6 hitters in Coach Dalton’s lineup.
Kris Regas drew a one out walk, was advanced on sophomore outfielder Cal Reghi’s line drive base knock, and crossed home plate on sophomore Charlie Zkiab’s infield ground ball for the 1-0 lead. Starting pitcher Alex Needham flared an RBI basehit to right, plating Reghi for the 2-0 lead.
All Avon after that, as the Demons weren’t able to get on the scoreboard further, while three large Eagles innings with the bats put the game away.
A solid season for the JV Demons, who developed their skill sets with the ideal of bringing a strong corp to Coach Mosley’s varsity squad in the 2020 season.
Kudos to Coach Dalton and his assistants for their leadership this entire campaign. Great job of support from all the fans, friends, and parents of the team. Greatly appreciated by one and all. On to Finals in the classroom now. Knock the academics ‘out of the park’ Demons! Best Wishes!
