The Westlake Girls Bowling team finished 2nd place in today’s State Sectional Qualifier, earning them another trip to the District tournament, this year at Rosewood Lanes in Oakwood Village on Saturday Feb 23rd. Although the team improved 150 pins from last year, their 3050 total was their lowest of the year on this oil pattern (Tower of Pisa), so the 2nd place finish was a little disappointing to most. Leading the team today was our steady Sophomore Taylor Hedges with a nice 487 series, our Seniors Charlotte Button and Peyton Hedges, each with a 463 series, and our Junior Jenny Wisniewski with a 428 series. Junior Emily Hyland and Sophomore Gabrielle Hansen combined for a 339 series to round out the individual scoring, and the team managed a respectable 870 total for their 6 Baker games. At Districts the WHS Demons will be fighting for one of the 6 spots to qualify for the State finals, and likely just need to bowl their usual 3200+ total to get there.
